Hope for Children of Turgutlu PledgePage

The title of my pledge introduces itself. Throughout Turkey, many towns and villages are suffering severely due to the lack of adequate medical care. Hospitals in Britain are at the forefront of medical and technological advances, when much of the world is in dire need of the simplest medical equipment. Having visited Turgutlu, a small town in the west of turkey on numerous occasions I still find myself deeply saddened by the sight of children with various illnesses forced to live with their afflictions. The aim is to provide as much medical equipment as possible, as well as work with the local doctors to treat those with little or no money. The Turgutlu Devlet Hastanesi, the local hospital struggles to meet the demands of these problems, and many families cannot afford afford treatment. I was prompted to start this fundraising at the sight of a young boy with a cleft palate defect, which is a surprisingly simple operation, where in Britain babies receive immediate treatment. The cost of this operation I later found out was only $250, which the family could not afford. This is only a fraction of the debilitating ilnesses and defects, which with correct treatment could be rectified without difficulty. This country is fighting for recognition in the EU, but a lot is needed to ensure it's future generation is healthy, with increased prospects, good health education and self-confidence. Please donate whatever you can and remember that no amount is too little. These children rely on and appreciate any help, and is up to us to pave the way for a brighter future.
